Initial Checklist

Segments

Advocately Touch 1

  • Go to https://app.intercom.io/a/apps/_/users/segments/new
  • On the left hand side, find the event stop-workflow-advocately and click the checkbox.
  • Click the checkbox beside count
  • Select 'less than'
  • Fill in the input with 1.
  • On the left hand side, find the event advocately-submitted-review and click the checkbox.
  • Click the checkbox beside count
  • Select 'less than'
  • Fill in the input with 1.
  • On the left hand side, find the event advocately-submitted-survey-response-promoter and click the checkbox.
  • Click the checkbox beside first occurred
  • Select 'less than'
  • Fill in the input with 3.
  • On the left hand side, click 'Save Segment' (big blue button, at the bottom)
  • Make sure 'Create New Segment' is selected
  • Name this Segment 'Advocately Touch 1'
  • Click 'Create Segment'

Advocately Touch 2

  • Make sure you are on the Advocately Touch 1 segment before starting this
  • On the left hand side, find the filter you just made, for advocately-submitted-survey-response-promoter
  • Change the value inside the input from 3 to 6
  • Click Add filter
  • Select 'more than'
  • Fill in the input with  3
  • On the left hand side, click 'Save Segment' (big blue button, at the bottom)
  • Make sure 'Create New Segment' is selected
  • Name this Segment 'Advocately Touch 2'
  • Click 'Create Segment'

Advocately Touch 3

  • Make sure you are back on the Advocately Touch 1 segment before starting this
  • On the left hand side, find the filter you just made, for advocately-submitted-survey-response-promoter
  • Select 'more than' instead of 'less than'
  • Change the value inside the input from 3 to 9
  • On the left hand side, click 'Save Segment' (big blue button, at the bottom)
  • Make sure 'Create New Segment' is selected
  • Name this Segment 'Advocately Touch 3'
  • Click 'Create Segment'

Campaigns

Advocately Touch 1

  • On the right hand side, click 'New Auto Message' and name it 'Advocately Touch 1'
  • Click 'Choose your audience'
  • Click 'Add a rule' and search for 'Segment'
  • Select 'is' then find 'Advocately Touch 1'
  • Click 'Select your channel'
  • We recommend the first message to be an email, so select 'Email'
  • Click 'Write your message'
  • Update the 'From' to be the correct person
  • Copy the subject from the first touch your campaign in Advocately
  • Copy the body from the first touch of your campaign in Advocately
  • Personalise the message with the user first name if it is available in your Intercom.
  • Click 'Set a goal'
  • Search for 'advocately-submitted-review' and select 'is-triggered'
  • Click 'Review and set live'
  • Click 'Save and close'

Advocately Touch 2

  • Go to the Advocately Touch 1 message you just created
  • At the top, click More
  • Click 'Duplicate'
  • Click 'Edit message' for the message called 'Advocately Touch 1 (Copy)'
  • Change the name to 'Advocately Touch 2'
  • Click 'Choose your audience' and change the segment to 'Advocately Touch 2'
  • You are welcome to change the channel to in-app (or leave it with email)
  • Click 'Write your message'
  • Update the content
  • Copy the subject from the second touch your campaign in Advocately
  • Copy the body from the second touch of your campaign in Advocately
  • Click 'Review and set live'
  • Click 'Save and close'

Advocately Touch 3

  • Go to the Advocately Touch 2 message you just created
  • At the top, click More
  • Click 'Duplicate'
  • Click 'Edit message' for the message called 'Advocately Touch 2 (Copy)'
  • Change the name to 'Advocately Touch 3'
  • Click 'Choose your audience' and change the segment to 'Advocately Touch 3'
  • You are welcome to change the channel to in-app (or leave it with email)
  • Click 'Write your message'
  • Update the content
  • Copy the subject from the third touch your campaign in Advocately
  • Copy the body from the third touch of your campaign in Advocately
  • Click 'Review and set live'
  • Click 'Save and close'

Final checkup

  • Check you have enabled Intercom within Advocately
  • Click settings
  • Click enabled
  • Click save
  • Check that all 3 Auto messages are enabled
  • Go into each message, Click 'Set live' (or 'Set it live again')
